Community Gardens !

It is not too late! If you have an interest in gardening this year we have a place for you to plant your garden. All Saints Episcopal Church has garden spots available to the public for a commitment of $10.00 a plot and a promise to tithe (give 10% ) of your produce to the Food Bank at New Hope Ministries or the Soup Kitchen at PAL. For further info, call All Saints 717-637-5772. The church is located at 890 McCosh St. and the garden location is on the south side of the church.

Other gardens will be located at Clearview Terrace for their tenants use. St Matthew Lutheran Church on W. Chestnut St will also participate again this year as well as new gardens at Grace United Methodist and St Jacob Lutheran. Why do we encourage Community Gardens? Fresh produce is a wonderful and healthy addition to a meal and those who come to PAL do not always have the opportunity to receive it. When we have an overabundance it is nice to be able to send some home too. If the opportunity arises to teach another how to garden, or have children learn to help in the garden you have shared a gift that will be with them for life.
