Since 1969 the Clothing Bank has been serving those in need with clothing.  Originally operating out of a small room in the Market House on 228 E. Chestnut St. until it was moved to 108 Railroad Street, the clothing bank saw approximately 50-80 families each week by referral and was operated by 14 regular volunteers.  The space at the time was limited to two small rooms on the second floor and was donated rent free from the Getty Oil Company.  In September of 1995 the building at 136 Carlisle St. was purchased by HACC and the Clothing Bank was then moved to this location.

Since then, we have served thousands of individuals and families by recycling and distributing clothing, toys, household goods, and more!  Our Clothing Bank is now operated under the direction of a Program Coordinator who is responsible for utilizing the help of volunteers to organize, sort, hang, and display donations every week.

With the help of the Clothing Bank Coordinator and dedicated volunteers, we can ensure a positive and pleasant shopping experience for the community.  Clients who may be experiencing financial hardship are able to apply for a clothing bank membership card, which allows them to obtain 3 FREE clothing items each Tuesday.  Clients who are not eligible for the membership card are able to purchase items at very low costs compared to other thrift stores and commercial shopping centers.

The Clothing Bank is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm, as well as the first and third Saturday of each month from 9am-4pm.  These hours allow clients of all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of our low prices and fulfillment of their needs.
